Boston Police: Individuals Wanted in Rideshare Sexual Assaults

WEST ROXBURY, MA - Police are looking for drivers they say sexually assaulted two women who requested pickup from rideshare services over the weekend.

The assaults were reported within minutes of each other early Sunday morning.

At about 2:59 a.m. officers in the South End received a report of an indecent assault in the area of Landsdowne Street. The victim said she ordered a rideshare service to pick her up around 15 Landsdowne St., but entered the wrong car. The driver still offered to drive her where she needed to go and asked her to sit up front. During the course of the ride the victim stated that the driver indecently assaulted her, according to police. She described him as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, clean cut with short hair, having a thin build and wearing a black sweater and khaki pants. She also told police he spoke with an accent.

Around 3:03 a.m., officers in Roxbury responded to a call of a sexual assault in the Mission Hill neighborhood. Police spoke to the victim, who said she had arranged for a pickup in the area of 2 Center Plaza in Boston. She entered a small black SUV believing it to be the car she called. The driver asked that she sit up front if he was to drive her home. During the course of the ride, the victim said the driver sexually assaulted her.
