Cardinal O'Malley visits Holy Name Filipino community

Holy Name Welcomes Cardinal O'Malley

Cardinal O'Malley was delayed getting to Holy Name Church for a 1 p.m. Mass on Sunday, April 21 with a growing Filipino community in the Boston area.  The Cardinal celebrated Mass at 11:30 at the Cathedral to pray and pay tribute to the memory of three who perished in the bomb attack at the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day.  The Mass began shortly after 1:30.  Several priests who minister to the Filipino community joined with the priests of Holy Name Parish for the Mass.  Prior to the offertory procession, several children performed a liturgical dance and made a lovely appearance.  Following the Mass, the Cardinal posed for photos and then headed over to Msgr. Finn Hall for a luncheon.  Mass for the Filipino community takes place on the first Sunday of every month at 1 p.m.
