West Roxbury Academy Graduates the Class of 2012

West Roxbury Academy graduates class of 2012

 

The Clark Athletic Center Hockey rink on the campus of UMass/Boston was the setting for the first commencement of on Friday evening, June 7. 

The school, one of two at the West Roxbury Education Complex was formed out of the previous Brook Farm Business Academy and Media and Technology High School last September.

Welcoming all and serving as master of ceremonies was Sherika Alford. The pledge of allegiance was led by senior Dominique Pierre.  Because the Academy was formed out of the two previous schools, there were two salutatorians and . 

An invited speaker delivering the keynote address as At-Large City Councilor Ayanna Pressley. Joining her on the platform was her fellow councilor, Matt O'Malley. Diplomas were presented to 146 graduates.
