Celtic Thunder Singer Emmett O'Hanlon to Perform in West Roxbury

O'Hanlon is the newest member of the group Celtic Thunder.

Emmett O’Hanlon is on his first solo tour this summer across America. While the group Celtic Thunder takes a break from their large venue tours, their newest member will be performing more intimate shows. O’Hanlon will be stopping in West Roxbury this Thursday for a show at the Irish Social Club.

A lover of popular music standards and Broadway show tunes, O’Hanlon will be singing an array of some of his favorites.

“This Tour is a chance for me to show the fans a side of me that most of them haven’t seen before. When watching my show, my hope is that the audience is able to hear the person behind the voice and the emotion brought on by these incredible works of art,” O’Hanlon said.

O’Hanlon is on tour with musical director, David Munro, who he has worked with Sinead O’Connor, Moya Brennan, Finbar Furey, Phil Coulter, The Dubliners, Brian Kennedy, Samantha Mumba, Hayley Westenra and, of course, Celtic Thunder.

“David and I are beyond exited to have the chance to present our takes on these incredibly beautiful classic songs,” O’Hanlon said.

The show will get underway at 7:30 p.m. A meet-and-greet will be held prior to the show, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the meet-and-greet are $50. Admission to the show is included. General admission tickets cost $35.

The Irish Social Club of Boston is located at 119 Park Street.

O’Hanlon’s 2015 Summer Tour is in conjunction with the 70th Platinum Anniversary Celebrations.
