Chaos at the Kilmer School - Who will help?

It has become apparent that the acting principal has elected to earmark her resources, attention, and energies to the lower school, and with staff, who are voting members on SSC at the expense of discounting best educational practices in the process.

It is concerning that the current administrative decision making process at the Kilmer is placing the school's safety and success in jeopardy due to the self serving and unprofessional nature of Emily Berman. It is evident within the community Ms. Berman's priority has been manipulating and securing her own position and status through using certain staff members.

In the school year of 2016-2017, when concerns had been reported to Mary Driscoll as the Principal Leader in charge, she and the Boston Public Schools had quickly responded to ensure no forward movement in the concerned areas.

In this fashion, collusion is apparent on the district's part in having set up the previous administration. It is our concern that Mary Driscoll is purposefully overlooking missteps, violations and reported unprofessionalism related to Emily Berman. There is a series of documented issues, as of this year, at the Kilmer School relating to: safety and culture issues with staff/families and students, students drug use, ongoing uninvestigated bullying on both campuses, reported by staff and parents, suicide violence, staff dissatisfaction, inequitable treatment of staff.

Futhermore, incoherent educational initiatives have become a major concern for staff and families.
