Dot Gorman Being Honored at Ohrenberger Today for Life's Work

Gorman was a 25-year administrator at the Ohrenberger Community Center. She passed away January of this year.

 

Longtime Ohrenberger Community Center employee Dot Gorman will be posthumously honored today with a bench and plaque dedication at the center.

The dedication will be at 2 p.m. and is open to the public. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, and city officials are expected to attend.

Gorman passed away on January 10, 2012.

While the family and family matters were always her priority, Dorothy derived a great deal of pride and satisfaction from her 25 year career in the administration of programs at the Ohrenberger Community Center in West Roxbury. Over the years she became a fixture at the Center, well known to program participants as a pleasant and helpful staff person and loved and respected by her fellow workers, many of whom became lifetime friends. She had a special love for the early childhood and teenage programs such as pre-school, after-school and gymnastics, and even in retirement regularly followed their activities.
