Downed Trees Snarl Traffic in West Roxbury
Officials had there hands full Tuesday evening after severe storms left a path of destruction behind.

Tuesday’s severe wave of weather wreaked havoc on Boston’s West Roxbury neighborhood, toppling trees on several streets in the area. Power lines were torn down as winds blew in excess of 60 mph.
A massive tree was uprooted on Centre Street. The tree fell completely across the road, snarling traffic in both directions. Local resident Angela Wang snapped a photo of the scene.
More downed trees were reported along the VFW Parkway, Manthorne Road, Schirmer Road and Bellevue Street. Many streets were also flooded due to heavy rain.

Members of the Boston Police Department were out in full force Tuesday evening to help clear the areas which sustained severe damage.
