'Dark Matter, Dark Energy' Video Lecture at the Library

Dark Energy won the 2011 Nobel Prize in physics for Saul Perlmutter, who discovered that the universe is expanding more rapidly than was previously thought.

Dark Matter will be explored in the upcoming Nova series "The Fabric of the Cosmos," which airs on PBS in early November.

You can learn more about these aspects of our universe at the West Roxbury branch library on Monday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m.  Through a video lecture, Prof. Mark Whittle of the University  of Virginia will outline the scientific evidence for the view that these two forms of matter comprise 96% of our universe.   David Forsyth, professor of organic chemistry at Northeastern  University , will lead the discussion that follows.
