The Jon Connor Resolution Run 2012

The Jon Connor Resolution Run sponsored by the Parkway Running Club is about re-dedicating ourselves to running for the coming year. It is named after Jon Connor, an original member of the club who lost his battle with cancer in 2006. He always pushed us to run further and faster; he was the elder of the group, but would goad us into running a bunch of hills that we would have avoided without him.

The Resolution Run is a great way to honor a runner (and friend) who always challenged others to do their best. If you can get out of bed on New Year’s Day morning for a 3-5 mile run in New England weather, you can set your mind to do anything that year! Come run with us!

Also, if you have any old shoes that are still in good condition, like running shoes that are past their mileage, please bring them to be recycled through a group that helps micro-entrepreneurs in West Africa. No winter boots or women's fashion boots/heels, but sneakers, sandals, kids shoes and cleats are welcome.

The Resolution Run is free. If you'd like to become a member of Parkway, it's $40 for individual new members, and $60 for couples. Benefits include group runs, fun runs, supported long training runs along the Boston Marathon route and a club bus to the Boston start, coached track sessions in the summer, and good folks to meet up with at road races. Runners of all abilities are welcome.
