Four Catholic Memorial Alums to Receive 'Vince in Bono Malum' Awards
Award named after school's motto that translates to "Conquer evil by doing good."

Four Catholic Memorial School graduates will receive the school's "Vince in Bono Malum Awards", which is named after the school's motto that translates to "Conquer evil by doing good."
The four graduates to be be honored for their good work are: Paul W. Chisholm '66, William J. Leahy '64, John J. Roche '71 and Brian P. Shuman '98 — will be the recipients of the 2010 award. The awards will be presented on November 3 at the annual President's Society Dinner at the Westin Copley Hotel.

The annual awards are given in three categories: Distinguished Professional Achievement, Outstanding Service to Community, and Outstanding Young Alumnus.
Chisholm and Roche will receive the award in the category of Professional Achievement. Chisholm, named one of the Top 100 Performing CEOs in the world by Harvard Business Review, is currently the chairman and CEO of MindShift Technologies.

Roche, CEO and Trustee of the Flatley Company, has overseen that firm's diversification into an investment business, philanthropic foundation and real estate company in the past two decades.
The "VB" Award for Outstanding Service to Community will go to William J. Leahy, who in 2010 retired after over three decades of public service in law, most notably as Chief Counsel for the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts. And Shuman, who has inspired students and players in his Westwood classroom and on his state championship Canton hockey team, will receive this year's award for Outstanding Young Alumnus.
"Catholic Memorial prides itself of being a family, and like all families, we take great pleasure when any of our members achieves a particular measure of distinction and honor," said CM President Paul Sheff ('62). "These alumni awards give us an opportunity to identify members within our alumni family who have achieved this level of accomplishment."
