Honors for West Roxbury Students on Catholic Memorial Speech Team

A dozen students earned individual honors, including seniors Kevin Donnelly and Mark Woodall of West Roxbury.

 

Two West Roxbury residents earned invidual honors for ’s speech and debate team at the annual George Mason Patriot Games tournament.

Held on Dec. 3 in Washington, DC, a dozen CM students earned individual honors, including seniors and Mark Woodall of West Roxbury. Donnelly was a semifinalist in the Impromptu category, as well as a quarterfinalist in Dramatic Reading. Woodall was a semifinalist in Dramatic Interpretation. The two teamed up for a duo performance and were named quarterfinalists, too. 
 
One week later, Donnelly and Woodall earned a second place medal at the Lincoln Sudbury High tournament on December 10 as duo performance. Donnelly also came in third for his individual performance.
 
CM’s speech and debate team competes at more than a dozen tournaments each year, traveling throughout Massachusetts, up and down the east coast to major tourneys in Florida and New York City.
