Kid-Friendly Fun: Jim Roche Community Ice Arena and Millennium Park

Looking for some kid-friendly fun in West Roxbury? Check out an ice rink that's the coolest place to be in the neighborhood, and Millennium Park, which provides enough hilly spacious land that you might find your kids singing songs about the hills being alive.

The rink offers many options for skaters of all levels and ages. During the summer NHLers and ex-NHLers show up in the afternoon to keep their skills going. 

It's also the home ice for the Parkway Youth Hockey league, the oil that keeps the West Roxbury youth hockey pipeline stocked feeding Catholic Memorial, Mt. Alvernia, the Boston Latin School and more.

You can reserve ice time online. Also don't forget Frozen Friday DJ Nights from 8-9:50 pm. $5 admission/$4 for skate rentals.

Millennium Park

 is a wonderful spot for so many kid-friendly activities that I couldn't even write all of them down in a 24-hour timespan. 

You could fly a kite, go bird-watching, canoe down the Charles River from the canoe launch, play on the playgrounds, have a catch, play baseball, soccer, lacrosse, tag - the list goes on forever.
