LAER Realty Partners Releases Its April Housing Report\

Boston, MA – May 23, 2016 – LAER Realty Partners, the third largest real estate company in Massachusetts with 22 locations and more than 400 agents, is proud to release its monthly housing report.

According to the April report, the spring market is continuing to boost as bidding wars remain frequent for real estate across Massachusetts. The report finds that in almost all of the markets, excluding Middlesex County and the Boston luxury market, 2015 has outpaced 2016 in terms of new properties for sale year-over-year.

A decrease in properties coming on the market year-over-year is evident. The high buyer demand fueled by a shortage of inventory continues to drive average prices up in most markets with the extreme exception of the Boston luxury condo market over $1M, where average prices dropped from $1.7M to $1.5 M year-over-year; and Boston luxury condos over $3M, where average prices dropped to $4.4M from $4.7M year-over-year.

“It is interesting to see a decrease in properties coming on the market from 2015 to 2016,” said Stacey Alcorn, co-owner of LAER Realty Partners. “The decrease may be a result of the extreme winter conditions of 2015 which caused many home owners to delay selling their homes while roof and other significant repairs from the winter were made.”

“This report indicates that there is extreme competition among buyers resulting in bidding wars and that show no signs of slowing down,” said Andrew Armata, co-owner of LAER Realty Partners. “Prices are now increasing in most markets.”
