Mayor Walsh and Jim Koch Celebrate Grand Opening of West Roxbury Pastry Shop

The business owner is the loan recipient of the Samuel Adams: Brewing the American Dream program.

Jim Koch, Samuel Adams founder and brewer, joined Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh to celebrate the grand opening of Delectable Desires Pastries in West Roxbury on Friday.

The bakery is owned by Boston resident Carlene O’Garro, who received a microloan from the Samuel Adams: Brewing the American Dream program to help make the new storefront possible, a recent press release indicated.

Entrepreneur O’Garro started Delectable Desires Pastries in 2007. Her products include custom sculpted cakes, wedding cakes and many other pastries including chocolate brioche, croissants and pecan sticky buns. The success of her online and wholesale business over the years has lead to the grand opening of her first brick-and-mortar shop.
