Parkway Team Wins Newton Indoor Soccer League Championship

On January 29 the Parkway entry in the Newton Indoor Soccer League won the U-8 division championship.

Parkway beat he Newton Gatorades 3-1 in the semifinal behind goals by Colin Joyal, Brayden Naumann and Basha Waxman, strong defense from Mikaili Puckerine, Paola Meadows-Muriel and Patrick Murphy and outstanding goal tending from Colm Kearney.

Against Newton United in the final it was tied 1-1 at the half on a goal by Caroline Wolff with Patrick Murphy guarding the net. Parkway fell behind 3-1 midway through the second half but tied it on goals by Shelby Sherman and Basha Waxman, went ahead on a goal by Mikaili Puckerine and a goal by Brayden Naumann iced the 5-3 win.

Kerby Gillis, Andrew Joyal, Katie Crowley all played key roles in the comeback and Colm Kearney defended the goal.
