Rep. Coppinger Installs Centre Street Holiday Decorations
The State Rep. has now assisted for four years in a row.

Volunteers, on behalf of State Representative Ed Coppinger (D-West Roxbury), were up bright and early on Sunday, Dec. 7.
The volunteers spent the morning hanging up lights and holiday decorations on Centre Street as part of the “Raise Some Green for West Roxbury” fundraiser, which was planned and sponsored by Representative Coppinger earlier in the decade.
Long-lasting decorations were purchased for the community to enjoy a well-decorated Centre Street during the holiday seasons.

“I took over decorating Centre Street during the holidays a few years ago and I am fortunate that I have a great group of volunteers,” Representative Coppinger said for a recent press release. “Keith Barry and Jack McCarthy brave the cold for the community year after year going up and down in the bucket truck for hours at a time. Alan MacKinnon from Gethsemane Cemetery gives us storage space and lets us use his truck. Mike Iceland from West Roxbury Main Streets comes out and helps. For the second year in a row, Mayor Walsh has helped secure two bucket trucks so we can get them up and down quicker and save us some money.”
“The holidays are a great chance to see West Roxbury at its best,” said Michael Iceland, Executive Director of West Roxbury Main Streets. “Main Streets loves being a part of spreading cheer this time of year and we are so excited to partner with Rep. Coppinger again. From getting snowflakes and decorations up to getting special deals in resident’s hands, Main Streets and our businesses appreciate all that our community partners do to make it such a special time of year.”
