freshman point guard hit his third straight shot -- a beautiful, arching jumper -- and the Foxes bench jumped up in excitement. As RL's fans cheered in the stands, the Beaver Country Day School called a timeout, looking to ice a 6-0 RL run.
That was the high point for the Foxes on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately for them, the score at the time still read 52-39 in Beaver Country's favor. And by game's end, the score read 68-50.
"For whatever reason we were flat today. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint exactly why, but I guess that's what you get when you're dealing with teenage boys," RL head coach Tony Teixeira said after the game.

The Foxes were coming off an emotionally and physically draining 43-30 loss to Milton Academy on Wednesday. Teixeira theorized that perhaps that game led to the Foxes slow start. Beaver Country led 24-5 midway through the first quarter and took a 41-19 lead into halftime.
For Teixeira, the Foxes (6-11) effort after halftime - RL won the second half against 17-1 Beaver Country 31-27 - was reason to remain positive.

"We try to find positives in the second game, for this one we'll hang our hat on defending and competing better in the second half," he said.
Benzan led RL in scoring with 18 points. Sophomore center Aman Stuppard chipped in 11, and senior forward Josh Rivers played well, contributing five points and five rebounds to the Foxes' totals.
Guards David Jaquet and Rene Castro led Beaver Country with 19 and 16 points respectively. Both players had a number of impressive scoring drives in the first half, including a fast-break dunk by Jaquet that pushed the score to 22-3.
