Our outdoor gardening days may be numbered now that it’s officially fall, but there are many flower-giving occasions before spring returns. If you have ever wanted to try your hand at flower arranging, here’s a good place to start: on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, The Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury (EGCWR) is hosting award-winning floral designer Thelma Shoneman with a demonstration of how to “Say It with Flowers.”
According to club President Ann Hopps Morgan, “Thelma is not only a floral design artist, but also has studied the meaning of specific flowers. Her talk will include the elements and principles of flower arranging as well as how to send a special message — love, devotion, fidelity, strength, good luck, etc. — based on flower selection.”
Thelma Shoneman is a Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge (Master status), chairs a number of state and regional floral design organizations, and has exhibited at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts “Art in Bloom” show for over 21 years.
