Six-Year-Old West Roxbury Boy Scrambles to Save Grandmother's Life

Police say the boy's grandmother passed out due to low blood sugar levels.

Boston Police say a six-year-old boy from West Roxbury scrambled to save his grandmother’s life after she passed out due to low blood sugar levels.

Liam was spending the day with his grandmother back on July 8 when the incident occurred, police say.

Liam, who had been playing outside, accidentally locked himself out the house. Upon trying to get back inside, he noticed his grandmother passed out on the floor through a nearby window.

Police say Liam immediately bolted to a neighbor’s house after several failed attempts to gain her attention. Liam informed the neighbor of the situation, who then called 911.

The woman, who suffers from diabetes, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police say low blood sugar levels caused her to pass out.

Liam is now being lauded as a hero as his grandmother may have died if he had not acted in such a swift manner, according to officials.
