Saturday, November 26th marks another annual Small Business Saturday. This national day is celebrated by shopping at local retailers. We at West Roxbury Main Streets (WRMS) celebrate the Shop Small movement in our community during the busiest shopping weekend of the year!
How does shopping small impact our community?
According to the 350 Project, “for every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures.” More can be found at www.the350project.net. Shopping local supports the local economy and neighborhood.
Where can you shop local?
West Roxbury has multiple businesses you can support by shopping on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year. On November 26th, look for balloons throughout your neighborhood highlighting where you can eat, shop, and get services locally.
