"New scouts will join a very active and family-friendly organization that offers a wide variety of fun activities. When a boy joins a Cub Scout pack he also becomes a member of a scout den where he’ll engage in age appropriate activities with boys in his own grade," said Chris Conroy of Cub Scout Pack 3 and 5. "At every level of Cub Scouting the boys get the chance to have hands-on experience and earn awards in Fitness, Sports, Citizenship, Community, the Outdoors, Technology, Arts, Communication, Personal and Public Safety, and First Aid. The Cub Scout dens of all ages come together for regular Pack events."
And there are plenty of local events the Cub Scouts get involved in, such as: Marching in the Roslindale Day Parade; building and racing their own boats in the Raingutter Regatta; building and racing their own model cars in the Pinewood Derby; the annual Fishing Derby; and a family camping trip.

Scouts also will have the chance to take part in ceremonies honoring veterans and to bring new flags to veterans’ graves before Memorial Day, said Conroy. In March, the Cub Scouts partake in an annual big event - an overnight trip to Battleship Cove, with the scouts sleeping on the Battleship USS Massachusetts.
Last year some dens toured the State House, Boston City Hall, walked the Freedom Trail, went to a BC Hockey game, and explored the outdoors.
Adult volunteers are welcome, too.
