Three Things to do in West Roxbury this Weekend
Hear a spooky author or help kids battle cancer with Halfway to St. Patty's 5K Road Race.
Looking for something to do this weekend?
It's not for everyone. But how about donating blood at the Holy Name Parish and Brigham and Women's Hospital Blood Drive on Saturday, which starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. I bet you'll get a snack, a drink and maybe some cookies afterwards.
Prior to donating, all donors must be in good general health, feel well, be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 100 pounds, had something to eat and be well hydrated with non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated beverages. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, call the Blood Donor Center at 617-732-6620.

If you're into tween spooky novels, check out author Tracy Carbone at Seek Books for a book signing of "The Man of Mystery Hill." That's on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
And while it's not in West Roxbury per se, it's just across the way in Roslindale and many of you are already going to support the Emerald Society of the BPD and Cops for Kids with Cancer. It's the Halfway to St. Patty's 5K Road Race on Sunday at 11 a.m. on Birch Street.
