West on Centre's Upcoming 'Havana Night' to Feature Live Music, Food and Cocktails

A Cuban-style party is coming to West on Centre.

The West Roxbury restaurant will host a special “Havana Night” on Wednesday, Aug. 27 starting at 6:30 p.m. that will feature Cuban-inspired theme and live music.

The third-annual event will comprise a five-course meal, each course paired with five classic cocktails.

Dinner costs $55 per person or $100 per couple and covers admission, all five courses and cocktail pairings.

“It’s so much fun for us to do something different like Havana Night,” said West’s Marketing Manager Bonnie Owens.

Course One
Chipotle Braised Chicken Empanada
lime-bacon aioli
Cocktail pairing: Almond Cigar
gold rum, amaretto, lime juice, cinnamon stick & lime twist garnish

Course Two
Grilled Pork Belly Cubano
maple ham, swiss cheese, dijonaise, homemade pickles
Cocktail pairing: Hemingway Cocktail
dark rum, grapefruit juice, lime juice

Course Three
Masitas de Puerco
crispy fried pork, marinated in garlic, onions, lemon & cumin
Cocktail pairing: Mariner Mojito
white rum, fresh mint leaves, muddled lime, mint simple syrup, club soda, dark rum float

Course Four
Ropa Vieja
shredded braised short rib beef sautéed in garlic, capers, olives, tomatoes, and spices
Cocktail pairing: Sangria Serrano
red wine, light rum, cointreau, vodka, grand marnier, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit

Dessert
Arroz Con Leche
Cocktail pairing: Papaya Coolatta
