West Roxbury Resident Running in 36th Marine Corps Marathon for National Fisher House Team
Tim West and his brother-in-law, George Brooks, formed their own two-man team, the Bean Town Runners, help them hit their donation goal!

After their first Marine Corps marathon last year, West Roxbury native Tim West and his brother-in-law George Brooks, knew where they'd be a year later - back in Arlington, VA, raising more money for the .
"We are so grateful for the service and sacrifice of our troops and their families..." wrote Tim West on his and Brooks' Bean Town Runners donation page.
On October 30th of this year, West and Brooks will be running in the 36th Marine Corp Marathon as part of the National Fisher House Team.

West wrote about his 2010 experience, "I can truly say it was one of the most moving and meaningful races I have even run. This year, our goal is not only to finish the race, but more importantly to raise funds that will support the efforts of the Fisher House.
"I first learned of the Fisher House when they announced plans to build a new location on the grounds of the in West Roxbury. The residents of West Roxbury and Roslindale have always done much to support the troops being treated at the VA Hospital. Therefore, as a West Roxbury native and lifelong Boston resident, I thought it important to continue our support for the Fisher House.

"It is essential that we take time to remember our friends, neighbors, and brave American men and women who are at war. Moreover, it is paramount that we do all that we can to support these brave soldiers and their families in a time of need. This is what makes the Fisher House mission so important.
