What is going on with Boston Public Schools?

BPS please answer

Parents at the Lyndon School are overwhelmed with the demise of the school culture and the ways BPS responded to the frightening events recently. These events are strictly related to our children’s safety and emotional well-being at the Lyndon.

It has been a huge concern for our community that the school district has made it a priority to focus on the restructuring of BPS one more time in less than few years, and cover up incompetent actions, instead of taking accountability and doing something positive to stop the destruction of some of the best BPS schools.

Tommy Chang and his cabinet led by Mary Driscoll are obviously more concerned with their own personal agendas and games to ensure their positions. Lets face it; Boston Schools have not been enjoying the success Tommy Chang promised during his hiring process. His IRS farce about the student funds’ use, and his lack of transparency and manipulations of the IRS situation tells more than any parent could tolerate. Let’s not forget the BPS’ MCAS scores’ decline being published all over the news as late as October 2017. Here at the Lyndon, many parents and students have been frightened and helpless at the sight of the recent violent acts and threats, but also fed up with BPS’ lip service instead of real action.

What is going on in West Roxbury -what was once thought of as the best schools around? Who is overseeing our schools and ensuring that leadership has the support, knowledge and skills to keep our schools safe and motivating for our children? Who is making sure that adults are held accountable for following policies at the school level and at the district level? Perhaps we should have the media come in and run a story on Marty Walsh, Al Taylor, Mary Driscoll and Tommy Chang, and find out who is leading the failures of this once thriving community that was the envy of the city and is now going into the trenches.

Who should be held responsible for families choosing to move out of West Roxbury to the suburbs because what they could once get at the Lyndon is no longer available? This is not ok, Boston Public Schools, and you need to answer!
