After Police Chase, Man Busted Applying For A Job In Westwood
A Lawrence man, wanted for allegedly running over a trooper's foot, was arrested after a chase that ended in Westwood, police said.

WESTWOOD, MA – A 26-year-old Lawrence man suspected of running over a trooper's foot was busted Tuesday as he applied for a job after leading officers on a chase across two highways, police said. Jose Jimenez allegedly led police on a chase up I-93 and onto I-95 before his arrest in Westwood.
Around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, a Massachusetts State Police trooper found a green 1999 Toyota Camry on Route 24 northbound in Raynham. Jimenez, the suspect in a vehicular assault on a trooper in Raynham during a traffic stop last week, was believed to be behind the wheel, according to police. A warrant had been issued for his arrest on Monday.
Police learned the Camry was owned by another Lawrence man – the same person who is the registered owner of the car Jimenez was driving when he allegedly ran over the trooper's foot. Jimenez was confirmed to be the driver of the Camry and police attempted to stop the car.

Police said Jimenez refused to stop and police pursued up to the I-93 split in Randolph, where he turned onto I-95 northbound. He then allegedly exited at University Avenue in Westwood, at which point troopers ceased the pursuit but continued to search the area.
The car was found abandoned near the Peterson School and a K-9 unit was called in to track Jimenez, police said. During the search, an employee of Osprey Wireless on University Avenue approached officers and told them a man had suddenly entered the store and asked if they were hiring.

Police responded to the store and found Jimenez sitting down and filling out what appeared to be a job application. He was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
During a search of his car, the K-9 allegedly found $10,620 in the car. Jimenez was arrested for a warrant charge of assault and battery on a police officer with a dangerous weapon and received additional charges of failure to stop for police; operating a motor vehicle after revocation; operating to endanger and speeding. He was ordered held on $250,000 cash bail.
Jimenez is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court.
