Westwood Resident Named as 'Top Doc'

Westwood resident and New England Baptist Hospital surgeon Stephen J. Parazin was recently recognized by his peers as being among the best doctors in Boston.

Parazin, NEBH’s Chief of Spine Surgery, was named to Boston magazine’s annual list, published each year in December.

Parazin specializes in complex surgery of the neck and back.  In addition to the recognition from Boston magazine, Parazin was recently honored by his patients with a Patient’s Choice recognition award, an honor reflecting the difference he has made in people’s lives. Of the nation’s 720,000 physicians, less than five-percent are accorded this honor.

To identify the area’s best doctors, Boston Magazine partnered with Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., a healthcare researcher that also prepares physician lists for Money, New York and Philadelphia magazines. 

The organization’s physician-lead team of researchers follows a rigorous screening process to select its top doctors.  The organization surveyed all licensed doctors in the Boston metro area.
