Author William Landay to Discuss Best Seller “Defending Jacob” at Westwood Public Library

Event Hosted by the Friends of the Library; Constitutes Group’s Annual Meeting

Author William Landay will visit the Westwood Public Library on April 10 to discuss his run-away bestseller, Defending Jacob, a legal thriller that Booklist calls a “riveting, knock-your-socks-off legal thriller.

Defending Jacob focuses on Andy Barber, a successful district attorney with a seemingly idyllic family life. But when a middle school boy is murdered and Andy’s son, Jacob, is identified as the prime subject, all of his most basic beliefs about family, morality, and parental vs. societal responsibilities are smashed.

Like his character Barber, Landay is a Boston native, boasts an Ivy League education, and spent many years as a public prosecutor.  The author will talk about the book, why it hits close to home and share his thoughts on the many incendiary issues raised by Defending Jacob.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Westwood Public Library’s Main Branch, is hosted by the Friends of the Westwood Library and constitutes the group’s Annual Meeting.  It is free and open to the public.
