Bubbling Brook Filled to the Brim with Tasty Treats
The renowned restaurant has been a summer tradition since 1951.
For years, Bubbling Brook Restaurant has delivered summery smiles to residents of Westwood and surrounding towns. And while the restaurant is closed during the winter, when Bubbling Brook opens it's doors, everyone knows that Spring has arrived.
The restaurant, known for its food and ice cream, opened in 1951, and has gone through three owners since, one including the present owner, Marie, who's family bought it in 2003.
Under Marie's guidance, Bubbling Brook scoops about two hundred tubs of hard ice cream and about twenty five cases of soft serve each week. Each case of soft serve is equal to five gallons, adding up to one hundred and twenty five gallons of soft serve served on a weekly basis.

It doesn't stop at just ice cream though. The restaurant also features a large selection of delicious lunches and dinners for all to enjoy. Some of the top sellers are classic dishes like cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fried clams, and onion rings. The menu also includes a variety of delicious club sandwiches.
For the most part, Bubbling Brook has a consistent flow of customers, though some times are busier than others.

"The busiest time for ice cream is around 7:30 p.m., but it's pretty steady all day," said Marie, who asked that her last name not be used for this article.
Marie also mentioned that the normal lunch hour of noon through 12:30 p.m. tends to get busy, and foot traffic picks up between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. as well.
"It's on the earlier side," Marie said.
A good deal at Bubbling Brook's customers are families with children, making it a perfect spot for an early dinner and dessert after a hot summer day, just as it's beginning to cool off.
The grassy knoll behind the building is scattered with picnic benches, where customers can enjoy their food and ice cream while taking in the fresh air and hearing the soft soothing sounds of the flowing brook in the woods.
With it's cozy environment, delicious meals and taste-bud tickling ice cream flavors, it is the perfect location for a relaxing summer treat.
