WestwoodWinds Community Band Rehearsals

WestwoodWinds Community Band is excited to announce that registrations for joining this year’s rehearsals and performance are open! The band will be hosting an open rehearsal on Tuesday, June 9th, from 6:30 - 8:45 PM at the First Parish of Westwood, and invites any interested musicians to join. This year, rehearsals in June will take place each Tuesday and rehearsals in July will take place each Monday. This year’s public concert will take place in the evening on Monday, August 3rd, location TBD, with the second and third performances held in the evening at Fox Hill Village on August 5th and Newbridge on the Charles on August 6th.

Melissa Laurencio, current Prodigy Program music teacher and Roma Band Director, will be returning as the Band Director and is currently working on a fun and engaging music selection for this year’s concert. 

WestwoodWinds’s membership includes musicians from Westwood and neighboring communities. Most have connections to Westwood either as a WHS graduate or as a current resident. The ages of the band members range from early teens to retirees, and the skill level covers amateurs through semi-professionals. The band is open to amateur musicians with no audition.
