Westwood Affordable Housing Associates received a significant grant for necessary renovations.

The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation is donating $17,465 to Westwood Affordable Housing Associates to help fund much needed maintenance of rental housing properties that are intended for low income tenants. WAHA does not receive funding from the Town of Westwood and the appropriate rental cost for tenants does not provide the funds for extensive renovations.

"Westwood Affordable Housing Associates (WAHA) appreciates the generosity and support of the Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation. As a non-profit provider of affordable housing, WAHA relies on outside resources to help fund capital expenses for our units," said Onderdonk.

The Dedham Institution for Savings formed the Foundation for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Westwood, Norwood, Walpole, Sharon, Needham, and South Boston. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
