Dedham-Westwood Water District Implements Mandatory Water Restriction

Lawn watering is allowed only during certain hours and days of the week.

Citing a combination of inadequate rainfall and a declining flow in the Neponset River, the Dedham-Westwood Water District on Thursday implemented a mandatory water restriction for residents in both towns.

As part of the restriction, Dedham residents are allowed to water their lawns on Mondays and Thursdays, and Westwood residents can water on Tuesdays and Fridays; residents in both towns are allowed to water between the hours of 6-9 a.m. and 6-9 p.m.

The restrictions are in effect until further notice; residents are allowed to use hand held hoses at any time to water flowers or vegetables, the DWWD said.
