Westwood residents, Henriette Dressens, Lisa Walker, Jane Wojick and Kathy Whelan will be featured in the show. Dressens has been working in clay for over 40 years:
“Many years ago, needing a change of pace in the daily routine of a busy housewife, I signed up for a pottery class offered at the Adult Education in Westwood High School," Dressens said. "I still teach 'Art of Clay' at the Potters Place.”

Walker enjoys wheel throwing a variety of functional ware and exploring surface decoration; this fall she’s using with a leaf pattern to reflect the changing season. Wojick’s natural inclination towards perfectionism and attention to detail are reflected her intricately carved pieces. Whelan was inspired by her family’s tendency to roast a pig whenever they get together, and built a family of pig-shaped serving bowls.
This year, Potters Place celebrates “Festive Feasts” with a unique collection of functional and fine art pottery that includes wheel-thrown and hand-built items. There will be a wide-array of one of a kind functional and fine art pottery items for purchase in all price ranges.
Vases, batter bowls, mugs, berry bowls, embellished platters, casserole dishes, bowl sets, cookie jars, plates, tree ornaments, and sculptures will be among the one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces for sale. The Show and Sale offers a wonderful opportunity for the public to visit the studio and learn more about the craft of pottery, as well as the upcoming winter classes at Potters Place for both adults and children. Gift certificates will be available for purchase and make a wonderful holiday gift idea for anyone interested in purchasing pieces or even trying their hand at pottery through on-going classes throughout the year at the studio!
Potters Place will be selling select pieces of pottery with all of the proceeds going to the Walpole Food Pantry. As a member of the Walpole community, Potters Place is excited about this community service aspect of Fall Show and Sale.
