Westwood Students to Perform at 34th Annual Seminar on Contemporary Music for the Young

The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston will host its 34th Annual Seminar on Contemporary Music for the Young, Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 from 1-6 p.m. both days. 

The event will take place in Bradley Hall at The Rivers School Conservatory, and will feature 133 students performing in six concerts. Solo, chamber, choral, and orchestral music will be presented.

All featured music has been composed within the last 25 years. More than 40 of these students will perform 12 commissioned premieres.

The following students from Westwood will be performing during this event:

  • Madeline Wambach (piano)
  • Julian Wambach (piano)
  • Ali Warshay (piano)

Students performing commissioned premieres have been coached by professional Boston-based composers. In addition, a 1 p.m. concert on Saturday, April 28 will be fully devoted to student composition premieres.

Tickets for the event are $10 per day for adults. Children and students attend for free. 

There is also a free faculty recital on Friday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.
