Fall Town Meeting Results
Town Meeting voters approve capital articles related to the construction of the new police station

The plan to build a new police station cleared another major hurdle on November 9, when Town Meeting voters approved six capital articles clearing the path to a new public safety facility.
Voters overwhelmingly approved the articles, which were all related to building a new police station behind the current building. In addition to funding the Deerfield Ave Extension and rezoning parcels of land near 90 Deerfield Ave and 790 Gay Street, voters also opted to raze a house used by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and build a new facility for the group behind the Hanlon School. A land swap between the town and American Legion was also approved, for the purposes of laying out a right-of-way and a parking lot.
All these measures were necessary to ease ingress and egress surrounding the abutting properties, as the project moves into the construction bidding phase.
