With the loss, Westwood dropped to to 14-4-1 on the season.

On Saturday, in a battle of two of the top teams in the SEMGHL, Franklin jumped out to a 2-0 lead three minutes into the game.

Thanks to goalie Siobhan Burke Westwood stayed in the game, as Franklin had several opportunities to score more goals and put the game away early.

Westwood roared back to score the next three goals and end the first period with a 3-2 lead. Freshman Kat Heidleberger got Westwood started. Egizi grabbed a rebound of a Horsfall shot and passed it to Heidleberger who put the puck in the net for her 11th goal on the season.

Freshman Lulu Swartz made it 2-2 taking a pass from Kelly and finding the back of the net.

Kelly then stole the puck from a Franklin defender, raced in and scored to give Westwood the lead.

Westwood, playing with six varsity regulars out of the line up due to injury or sickness (Fay, Walsh, Regan, Hazar, Kristina Barounis, Orcutt) took a 4-2 lead early in the second period on a goal by senior Liz Stuehr with Fay and Taylor Sweeney picking up assists.

Westwood raced out to a 6-2 lead early in the third period on two goals by Horsfall. After Franklin cut the lead to 6-3, Catherine Barrett scored to make it 7-3 and put the game away for Westwood with assists going to Swartz and Kelly Healey.

Prior to the game, Westwood's Kelly Healey was named to the SEMGHL All-League team.
