Hale to Hold 5K 'Adventure' Race This Sunday

The race is part of Hale's 5K series, which kicked off in late April.

Marking the end to what is forecasted to be a hot and humid week, will continue on Sunday, June 24 with a specialzed "adventure race".

“Our course for the obstacle adventure race is set and it is sure to be a challenge," Hale Director Eric Arnold said in a statement Monday. "It is a wonderful way to get out and challenge yourself and raise money for the Hale Camp Scholarship Fund. Entry fee is $20 and the first 100 entrants receive a tee shirt. You may pre-register for this race by visiting the Hale website.”

The race itself begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, and Hale officials said it should be an ideal opportunity for runners looking for a solid challenge.

"I don't know if that's more of a race, or actually a challenge to oneself," Hale spokesperson Paula McLaughlin told Westwood Patch in April. "It should be really fun. We're supporting helping disadvantaged kids come to camp and it was just a natural match to work with the academy, and they have such a huge emphasis on fitness."
