Hale's New 'Sen Ki' Lot Now Open to Public
The trail lot will be open from 7 a.m. until dusk each day.
A treasure is now open on High Street in Westwood, and awaits nature lovers of all ages.
Formerly known as , a trail lot donated to Hale Reservation is now officialy open to the public under the new moniker, "Sen Ki - Land of Stone".
The property will be open from 7 a.m. until sunset every day, according to a recent statement from Hale Reservation, and features two miles of trails. One of those trails is still in development, and will eventually link the Sen Ki lot to the main property of Hale.
The wooded area at Sen Ki features rock outcroppings, pine groves and a handful of large hardwood trees.
Hikers should note that dogs, bikes and motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trails of the property.
Hale took over as steward of the property after it was donated by the McFarlands at the end of June.

Adding to that, the Westwood Land Trust, which contributed about $250,000 towards the project, has made it so the land is permanently protected from development by a conservation restriction, which mandates that the land can only be used by the public for hiking.
While Hale will oversee maintenance and care for the land, the WLT will ensure that the terms of the conservation restriction are followed.

The lot is also adjacent to 37 acres of land owned by Sam and Allie Perry that has been preserved by the WLT.
