K-9 Sniffs Out Breaking And Entering Suspect In Westwood
State police K-9 Rocky helped nab a man wanted in commercial break-in last week.

WESTWOOD, MA – Westwood crooks beware – Rocky is on the case. The state police K-9 helped sniff out a suspect in hiding after a breaking and entering in town last week. State police received a call for K-9 assistance around 2 a.m. Friday morning to track down the suspects in a break-in of a commercial building.
Rocky and his partner, trooper Jay Vital, were working construction detail nearby and responded to the scene, where two males had been seen fleeing on foot. Rocky tracked the scent through the rear lots of the two adjoining businesses and found a sneaker, state police said.
He continued following the scent past a driveway and into a backyard, where he alerted troopers to a shed. State police and Westwood officers searched the shed and found one of the suspects. Police said he admitted to the break-in and was taken into custody without incident.

But the rogue sneaker did not belong to the suspect, leaving the second (presumably half-shoeless) male at large. Police are still looking for the second suspect in the breaking and entering.
