Keller Williams to Take Over Appleseeds Building
The building is set to begin business this spring shortly before the closing of the Westwood Public Library.
After nearly a year of vacancy, a new tenant is poised to fill the building that once was Appleseeds on High Street in Westwood.
Real estate agency will take over the new building this spring, according to local real estate broker Barbara Shea, who owns her own real estate practice in Westwood.
Keller Williams will be moving in by March and be open by April at the latest, said Shea, who spoke for High Street 109, LLC, which now owns the building. While renovations will be underway within a matter of weeks, the majority of the work will be on the interior of the building.

"They intend to maintain the integrity of the building," said Shea. "They want to keep that downtown feel. It's such an iconic building."
High Street 109, LLC, which also owns the Starbucks building and plaza on High Street across from the Gay Street intersection, closed a purchase of the building on Jan. 17 for $1,135,000, Shea said. The building has been vacant since Spring 2011.

As such, library patrons, which have used the lot at the Appleseeds building for parking during its vacancy, will have to look elsewhere to park until the library closes its doors.
"Customers need to know it's the property of the new owner and they have priority," said Westwood Library Director Tom Viti.
Parking in the area hasn't been much of a hassle for those using the library this season, Viti said, as the winter weather has been more favorable than is typical.
Once the Keller Williams building is open, library patrons should look to a number of other public parking areas along High Street/Rte. 109 during that overlap, Viti said.
