After supporting Xaverian Brothers High School during their 50th Anniversary Gala, Needham Bank is proud to expand its partnership with the school by providing a $2,000 scholarship to a student entering his senior year. This year’s recipient, Jack Concannon, was selected based on his volunteerism and commitment to his community.
After attending camps with the Needham Parks and Recreation Department, Concannon, a Needham Resident, began volunteering and eventually ran the Department’s volunteer program. As a volunteer, Jack plans activities and works to enrich the children’s experience with the Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, Jack is also involved with the Xcel program at Xaverian and The Ginormous Climb, which benefits the Suffolk County Children’s Advocacy Center.
“Jack’s commitment to enriching the Town of Needham and its surrounding communities is something we admire here at Needham Bank” stated Mark Whalen, Needham Bank’s President and COO (and a Xaverian Brothers High School graduate). He added that, “These shared values between Jack, the school and the Bank are the reason he was selected as our 2014 Scholarship recipient.”

Brother Daniel Skala, Headmaster of Xaverian Brothers High School, remarked that “We have many families who could not afford a Xaverian Brothers education without some assistance from our scholarship and financial aid program. We are very grateful to Needham Bank for their generous support.”
