While the top-ranked Westwood girls lacrosse team had pretty much cruised through the first half of the season, coach Leslie Frank was looking for an opportunity for her club to step up its intensity level.
Frank saw some of that fire yesterday as tremendous defensive and midfield play helped create numerous turnovers that ultimately spelled the difference, as the visiting Wolverines bested No. 2 Needham, 12-7, in a nonleague match.
