Norwood Doctor Practiced While Impaired, Officials Say
The Board of Registration in Medicine suspended the surgeon's license on Sept. 10.

A Norwood doctor’s medical license has been suspended after the Board of Registration in Medicine says he saw patients while impaired.
Dr. John Fattore, a plastic surgeon, held a private practice at Guild Medical Building, 825 Washington St., across the street from Norwood Hospital. He specialized in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, and he has been practicing in Massachusetts since 1991.
The Board said Fattore posed “an immediate and serious threat to the public health, safety and welfare.”

Fattore is affiliated with Norwood Hospital and Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery Medicine and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Norwood Hospital removed Fattore from the medical staff once they learned of the accusations, 7News (WHDH) reported.

Fattore was previously fined $10,000 in June after the Board discovered he “used his scrubs, hospital identification, familiarity with the hospital, and familiarity with the nurses to end up in [a non-patient’s] recovery bay, with the curtain closed, for no medical purpose,” a report shows.
