's varsity girls soccer squad took on Ashland Tuesday night under the lights, coming out victorious 2-0, despite several of Westwood’s starting players being benched for injury.
The first half of the game was an even match, with a lot of movement up and down the field. Towards the end of the half, however, Westwood spent more time on the Ashland territory.
The Wolverines were hungry for a score. As the second half started, Westwood took a few quick shots on goal, none of which went in. The shots were unanswered by their Ashland opponents.

The Westwood girls kept at it, though, and about 10 minutes into the second half, the first goal of the game was scored. The lead 1-0 gave the Westwood team the boost they needed, and the team continued to move towards the Ashland goal.
About 20 minuets into the second half, the second and final goal of the game was scored, and as the clock ticked down the final few seconds, the Westwood girls couldn’t help but cheer for their team’s win.
