Plane Crash in Westwood Seriously Injures 2: UPDATE

The aircraft was carrying two male passengers.

WESTWOOD, MA — Two people were taken to the hospital in serious condition after a small plane crashed in the backyard of a Westwood home Saturday afternoon.

"A Piper PA-24 aircraft with two people on board crashed in a wooded area near Norwood Memorial Airport in Massachusetts at 3:15 PM today," the FAA said in a statement. "The FAA is in route to the scene to begin the investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the probable cause."

Westwood Police Chief Jeffrey Silve said that the four-passenger aircraft had two males aboard, according to multiple reports. The plane crashed in a backyard on Peartree Drive, Silva told reporters.
