Pre-Sale Tickets to High School Musical Available for a Limited Time
Sneak Peak of Godspell Also Offered; Costumed Middle School Theater Students to Help With Sales

To meet the expected strong demand for tickets to the 2015 Westwood High School spring musical, Godspell, The Friends of the Westwood Performing Arts are holding a special pre-sale event on Saturday, March 7. Tickets to all performances of the show will be available between 12:30 and 1:30 pm that afternoon as will a sneak-peek of the play.
On hand to sell tickets to Westwood residents will be costumed Thurston Middle School theater students; cast members of the upcoming Pirates of Penzance.
“Last year’s musical, Shrek, quickly sold out its entire run,” said Gina Cosimini, drama teacher and director of Godspell. “We want to give Westwood residents a chance to purchase tickets early this year, ensuring that they can attend the performance of their choosing.”

Godspell features a cast of 42 and utilizes the talents of 20 additional high schoolers in behind-the scene roles. The large size of the theater troupe coupled with the popularity of the play itself, said Cosimini, means that there is already a high call for tickets.
Those wishing to purchase admission to Godspell may come by the high school auditorium on Saturday, March 7 where they can buy tickets and enjoy a short preview of the performance. The Friends will also offer “curb-side” ticket pick-up via costumed middle school runners who will deliver tickets right to patrons’ cars, making the process of buying tickets a quick and easy process.

“We know the weather may not be ideal, however, we want everyone to have the opportunity to take advantage of this very special one-time only presale,” said Cosimini. “Middle school ‘pirates’ will ferry tickets and money back and forth to assist everyone in making a purchase. You won’t even have to leave your car! But, you may want to just for the sneak peek!”
Godspell tells the story of a diverse group of people who don’t get along but learn to work together thanks to the leadership of one individual, Jesus. The play uses a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and a hefty dose of comic timing. Additionally, an eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the tale of Jesus’s life dances across the stage. Westwood High’s version incorporates contemporary and modern themes, such as texting and Facebook, to help advance the action.
Tickets to Godspell are $10 for students and $15 for adults. Performances run March 12-14 at 7:30 pm with an additional show slated for 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14.
