Selectmen Recognize Girls Lax Team for Continued Success
The girls received specialzed tee shirts as a gift during Monday night's meeting.

As an added bonus to being once again this year, the girls lacrosse team received specialized tee shirts bearing names of all the players from the Westwood Board of Selectmen Monday night.
The board commended the group for their continued success over the years, , when the team was also crowned champions.
"It's really nice to keep doing this again and again," Selectmen Third Member Nancy Hyde said. "It's really a testament to you rising to the challenge put before you."

Selectmen Clerk Pat Ahearn echoed the comments, and also commended the team's head coach, Leslie Frank, who was also present Monday night.
"You're the one continuum through all the years," Ahearn said. "You take all groups of girls every year and make them successful. They're not only successful as athletes but they're also successful as students. You do a tremendous job. You're a testament to your families, your schools and your town."

For her part, Frank thanked the Selectmen for their continued support over the years.
"We want to thank you guys for recognizing us," Frank said. "I think it's exceptional, and I think that's one of the reasons they step up every year, because the town is behind them. It's just their work ethic and that starts with their families."
