Two Old Friends Visit Westwood Library for Music, Laughs

The folk duo sang a number of classic folk, country and bluegrass songs, giving background behind each one.

On Wednesday afternoon, a number of Westwood residents took to the lower level of the Westwood Public Library, where a folk duo known as "Two Old Friends" brought forth an entertaining performance of old folk songs and Irish ditties.

The duo - Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins - pleased a room full of children, seniors and families with a host of traditional Irish folk tunes, classic country songs and even some melodic bluegrass.

McHale and Hutchins used a number of instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, and concertina. They told a little background behind each of their songs, which included pieces by Hank Williams and The Carter Family, as well as a number of Irish classics, such as "Whiskey in the Jar."
