Vintage Westwood: 1896 Railway Car Barn

A peek at an old railway car barn from over a century ago.

Here is a photo of a car barn that was built in 1896 on High Street in the Pond Plain area. The site is now the location for the Sunoco station. The trolley operated from Dedham to Islington, Norwood and East Walpole. The building featured a waiting room with a telephone booth and a soda fountain.
