More than 300 Scouts attended the event, at which they earned merit badges while taking part in an interactive program that included two weekend sessions inside classrooms at Harvard, according to a news release this week.
Among the attendees were Westwood Scouts Jake Powell, 13, and Brian Beggan, 14, of Troop 1 Islington.

Through the program, Powell, Beggan and other Scouts had the chance to learn from Harvard students and faculty in such subjects as computer technology, space exploration, oceanography, energy, chemistry, aviation and architecture, among others.
Each Scout had the chance to earn three merit badges through sessions and hands-on learning at the Ivy League school.
